Raffles Hotel Dubai - DubaiinformerRaffles Dubai has marked the completion of its concrete structure of this 19-floor, 257-room hotel last week.
The pyramid-shaped hotelstarted its construction last April 2005, and is set to be finished in summer next year, March 2007. Raffles Dubai is scheduled to be operational and open to the public by middle of 2007 as well. (picture curtesy of Raffles Dubai hotel)

Located in Wafi City, an Egyptian-themed mall located in the heart of Dubai, this new addition to Raffles chain of hotels worldwide is the first hotel in their venture in the Middle East. Raffles Dubai is also the first hotel by Raffles International to be considered as a “build”, as most Raffles hotels are known to be located within historic buildings.

In addition to its 19 floors, Raffles Dubai will have two basements. These basements are said to be used for vehicle parking, and a shopping centre. The first few floors of Raffles Dubai will be hotel rooms, while the remaining few floors will be private apartments. The three remaining top floors of the hotel will be filled with restaurants and night clubs. The top of the structure is expected to be a glass pyramid in gold color that will sparkle in daytime, and will be backlit during night time. Raffles Dubai will also provide its guests an access to Wafi Mall if they want to see and enjoy the other parts of Wafi City.

While the concrete structure was still underway, its construction has been keenly observed by the public, mainly by motorists along Sheikh Rashid road. And with its completion, it won’t be long until the finishes of the hotel will be visible and completed, especially its glass pyramid top. This will surely become another landmark in Dubai. With this in mind, 2007 will definitely be filled with curious residents and tourists making sure that they have to slip in their to-do’s in town their visit to Raffles Dubai hotel.

I think u shouldnt waste ur time, there is enough stupid propaganda in all the local papers... I really wanna puke hearing you worshipping concrete structures.

Concrete on top of concrete, what sort of fucked up achievement is this?! Let's have a look on the ingredients of a tower :
- Architectural design : Done outside
- Raw material : imported from outside
- Labours : Slaved from outside
- Financing : Lured from outsie
- The job : is contracted to outside

Pyramid, sphere, or cone shape, thick, thin, tall or short, I don't see the intereseting part!! You talk like concrete structrues are invented in Dubai for the first time in history of mankind!

Dubai Informer, keep up the good work in constantly informing us of the new developments here in Dubai! Don't listen to screwed mind, as his user name says everything about him already!

It's nice to see the new things happening here in Dubai, esp. for us who are living far from that beautiful place.

And we'll wait for your post about the finish / launch of Raffles Dubai!

I do like the Greek columns look on the facade of the hotel. Unusual and definitely a different look for this region.

It's a free world out there in cyber space and I can't say what you should or shouldn't do. Perhaps fantesizing about skyscrapers is way better than wasting hours of your life in Shaikh Zayed Road's traffic on a daily basis. Ironically, most of the traffic is caused by all construction madness that is named "My Vision" by some!

Well, to be honest with you, I think you're working in a tourism related industry and squeaking as a very tiny gear in this whole giant ugly looking propaganda machine about Dubai. Else, I'd say you should have been absolutely brainwashed (In this case, this is my advice my friend: "GET A LIFE")

I'm living in Dubai for quite some time and really don't need to read your blog to catch the news of this "Lovely" place. Thanks god, I've found a job somewhere else and inshallah I'd be moving out of UAE next month (Enough contribution to Shaikh's wallet for a person in my caliber).

Perhaps the best thing I can do is to wave at all these concrete monsters with the happiest smile ever on my face while taking off from Dubai International Airport. I'm sure you'd say that I'd be missing the best part of my life in Dubai, but I'd say that this best part is really hurting me like hell.

Good luck my friend and please do spare your reply since I wouldn't be reading your blog anymore.
