The Rose Rotana Suites, a soaring 72 floor tower structure, 333 metres high with 480 luxurious rooms, suites and penthouses will be the world’s tallest all-suites hotel when it opens in March 2008. Rotana Hotels has been working closely with the owner to develop a hotel building that is set to be a dramatic addition to the scenery on the magnificent Sheikh Zayed road.

The property will boast the most up to date technology, a variety of food and beverage venues, meeting rooms, business facilities, a state-of-the-art fitness centre, outdoor swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Rose Rotana Suites will be within walking distance of the Financial City, the Convention Centre and the Exhibition Halls and each studio and suite will have its own kitchenette, high-speed internet connection, multi-channel satellite television, IDD telephone with voicemail, mini fridge and mini safe.

The second Dubai property, scheduled to open in March 2008, is the Media Rotana Hotel. The property will be a four star plus deluxe hotel located at the heart of Dubai’s business hub. Media Rotana Hotel will offer 467 rooms and suites, a vast array of food and beverage venues and flexible, state of the art meeting rooms and business services. Guests wishing to keep fit during their stay will be able to take advantage of the Bodylines fitness centre with professional instructors, as well as the private swimming pool, sauna, steam room and massage services.

Finally, in April 2008, Rotana Hotels will manage its first resort in Dubai, Amwaj Rotana Resort, Jumeirah, Dubai. Located on Jumeirah beach, the resort will be part of the new Jumeirah Beach Residence complex and is a significant move into the resort arena for Rotana Hotels in Dubai. The property will consist of 301 deluxe rooms and suites, flexible and multipurpose ballroom and meeting rooms and state-of-the-art fitness facilities.

In addition the resort will have an all-day dining restaurant serving international cuisine, a pool-side bar and lobby lounge, an Italian restaurant and a Japanese restaurant and sushi bar. All restaurants will have outdoor terraces for al fresco dining. Guests will also have access to a beautiful beach.

“Rotana Hotels currently operates more hotels in Dubai than any other single operator and the scheduled openings of Rose Rotana Suites, Media Rotana Hotel and Amwaj Rotana Resort will only increase the company’s stronghold further”, says Imad Elias, Chief Operating Officer for Rotana Hotels.

New Zealand has won the opening round of the International Rugby Board's World Series Sevens in Dubai.

The defending champions beat Fiji 31-21 in the final early this morning (NZ time), making the most of a period when Fiji's Emosi Vucago was yellow-carded.

While Vucago was in the bin, New Zealand scored twice to race to a 26-0 lead and looked home before Fiji surged back to trail just 26-21 late in the game.

New Zealand, who led 21-0 the previous evening against France but then conceded 19 unanswered points in a narrow win, suddenly appeared
vulnerable.

But Fiji made a hash of the restart, and New Zealand recycled possession for Steven Yates to cross on the right and finally make the game safe.

NZ's early tries went to Zar Lawrence while Nigel Hunt added a third before Yates crossed to complete the 26-0 lead.

NZ advanced to the final with a 40-7 win over Argentina in the quarterfinals and then squeaked past the defending Dubai champions, South Africa, 12-7 in the semifinals.

New Zealand skipper DJ Forbes said Fiji's fight back had him worried.

"You can never write anyone off in sevens," he told news agency AFP.

"But we knuckled down and stuck to our guns. They were very hard to contain but we
showed a lot of character and dug deep."

And coach Tietjens said he was pleased with the way New Zealand responded
to the two yellow cards for their first win in Dubai since 2003.

"We used our heads to score quick tries after the sin binnings," he said.
"But in the second half we fell off tackles and almost paid the penalty."
